Research & Development

The company has a full fledged Research and Development Wing where development work in the field of Surface Technology, Polishes, Tribology are constantly undertaken with the sole objective of

  • Upgradation of existing products to meet the demands of the Customers and challenge of imported products for similar application; and
  • Development of new products
    The Research & Development Wing is manned by experienced and qualified Scientific and Technical personnel who keep themselves abreast with the latest state-of-the-art technology and the development taking place in allied industry all over the world.

The Physico-Chemical Test Laboratory is fully equipped with all testing equipments required for complete analysis and evaluation of products in the field of Polishes, Lubricants, Fuel Aids and other speciality products. Test equipments to study behaviour pattern and flow characteristics at sub-zero temperatures under static and dynamic conditions are provided.

Apart from physico-chemical testing laboratory, a Performance Testing Laboratory is set up to assess performance of products under simulated service conditions. Some of the performance Test facility features are:

  • Single Cylinder Compression - Ignition and Spark Ignition laboratory test engines with augmented engine operative conditions to study and assess characteristics like Detergency and Engine Cleanliness Property, Oil Oxidation & Bearing Corrosion Properties of Automotive Engine Oils.
  • Timken Wear & Lubricant Tester to determine load carrying and wear characteristics of Gear Oils under Boundary Lubrication conditions
  • Exposure Yard to study behaviour of Polishes in test panels;
  • Service tests to study breaking efficiency of Brake Fluids under varying conditions of speed and Load Impact.

  • Constant Temperature Viscosity Bath for determination of Kinematics viscosity at High and Low Temperatures and determination of Viscosity Index.
  • Flash Point Apparatus: Cleaveland Open Cup, Pensky Marten’s Closed and Open Cup, Abel’s Flash Point method.
  • Pour Point Apparatus.
  • Ramsbottom’s Carbon Residue Apparatus.
  • Muffle Furnace.
  • pH Meter for potentiometer Titration.
  • Oxidation Stability Apparatus for Greases (Norma-Hoffman).
  • Bomb Calorimeter.
  • Drop Point Apparatus for Greases.
  • Glosso Meter.
  • Elco Meter for measuring film thickness.
  • Karl Fischer Apparatus for estimation of Water.
  • Foaming Test Apparatus.
  • Water wash out characteristics Test Apparatus for greases.
  • Rolling Stability Apparatus.
  • Cone Penetrometer for determination of consistency of Greases.
  • Shear Statibility Apparatus by Bosch fuel Injection Test Method for finding out Shear Stable V.I.I’s.
  • Noacks Volatility Test Apparatus.
